We still have spots for the 2017 July 24 – 28th camp. Call Meg at 760-822-4778 to get more info!
At the camp kids will have riding lessons in arena, enjoy trail riding in Elfin Forest, feed the exotic petting zoo animals, learn basic horse/pony care, swim in the pool and much more - a lot of different activities each day.
We make it as convenient for the families as possible – you are welcome to book individual days, it can be a Half day (from 9am – 12pm) or a Full day (from 9am – 3pm).
Please see our camp page for weekly prices (if you book the whole week), a min of 6 children is required. Call 760-822-4778 if you have any questions!
We had a fun camp this week, children from 6 to 12 enjoyed riding different horses, trail rides, bareback riding, petting zoo and more! They learned basic horse care, older kids helped the younger ones.
This summer Mega Arte campers got introduced to the two-point English jumping position. See the video with Piper and her sister, experienced riders and camp assistants, demonstrating two-point position jumping.
The term “two-point” was introduced by George Morris in the 1970s. A rider sitting in a three-point position has contact with his horse through his seat and his two legs. Once a rider assumes a more forward jumping position his seat is elevated out of the saddle and he only has two points of contact: his two legs, placed against horse sides.
Our camp in July went great: in addition to our usual activities like horse backriding lessons, swimming in the pool and petting zoo, kids got to watch and hold the Panther or Rainbow chameleon and two baby Lutino Cockatiels.
